Dye powder is placed two ways — under the ice on top of the garment (DUI) or over the ice (DOI) — then melts through for those crystalline, geode-like patterns you can't fake.
Some pieces are dyed using a special liquid dye blend that has taken years to perfect.
Some shirts are made using a method called reverse dye — the shirt starts off black or another solid color, gets bleached to a lighter color, then is dyed using either the liquid dye or ice dye methods.
A few pieces at a time, dyed with obsessive attention — never mass-produced.
